If you’ve been with us for a while, you’ll know that the Timeline has been a much-anticipated feature within Coruson for some time. Now that it’s here, you might be wondering what to do with it and how it’s going to benefit you.
What does it do?
Basically, Timeline combines incident and risk management to create a more proactive process for managing risk- namely to get you to a point of being able to foresee and prevent risks before they happen. Timeline is a step on the journey to realising this vision.
How does it do it?
Timelines takes the bowtie model, a widely accepted model of risk analysis, and turns it into a tool for incident management. This is a powerful investigation tool which allows your business to map out any contributing factors for potential incidents.
How does this benefit me?
Timeline puts your incident report into a visual format. Once you’ve recorded your event you can then add the related threats, controls and consequences in the order in which they occurred. In addition you can:
- Input the date and time
- Geotag the location
- Add a picture
- Add in notes to explain the situation
- Input the type of threat from the drop-down menu
- Select which type of control was used
- Drag and drop and change the size of the boxes
This gives clear visibility on the issue that took place; allowing you to put effective controls in place to prevent further incidents.
